Aditya Roy Kapur [ədiːtyə roy kəpuːr] (born November 16, 1985 in Mumbai , India ) is an Indian film actor. He made his film debut with a supporting role in London Dreams (2009), and supporting roles in Action Replayy (2010) and Guzaarish (2010). In 2013 he received the leading male role in the romantic drama Aashiqui 2. In 2013 he played a supporting role in the romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani .

Life

Aditya is the youngest of the family. His eldest brother Siddharth Roy Kapur is married to Bollywood actress Vidya Balan . He also has a brother named Kunaal Roy Kapur.

He graduated from GD Somani Memorial School in Cuffe Parade where his two brothers studied and where his mother directed school games. He then graduated from St. Xavier University in Mumbai.

Kapur is not a trained actor, although he took dance classes and diction classes to improve his Hindi accent. Aditya had no burning ambition to become an actor until he auditioned as a VJ for London Dreams . During his school days he wanted to be a cricketer, but he finished.
