Adjiri Odametey (* 1963 in Accra , Ghana ) is a multi-instrumentalist of world music .

Act

He studied traditional music in the Arts Council of Ghana in Accra. Adjiri Odametey played in the Pan African Orchestra, which recorded their debut album Opus 1 on Peter Gabriel 's Realworld label. Other groups in which he played were: Ghana Dance Ballet, Tarantula, Kalifi Dance Ensemble and Kyirem - with the latter he won the Ecrag Award twice . Adjiri Odametey toured to Japan, Canada, Russia, Alaska and Europe. In 1993 he founded his first band "LASU" and performed mainly in Europe. Since 2003 Adjiri Odametey has been giving world music concerts with his band.

Adjiri Odametey plays guitar , balafon , kora , mbira , kalimba and percussion .
