Adli Yakan Pasha ( Arabic عدلي باشا يكن Adli Bascha Yakan , born January 18, 1864 ; † October 22, 1933 in Paris ) was an Egyptian politician .

biography

Adli was a member of the Yakan (also: Yeghen ) family, the descendants of a sister of Muhammad Ali Pasha . He himself was his great-great-nephew.

He himself became foreign minister in the cabinet of Hussein Ruschdi Pascha in 1914 and interior minister in the government of Muhammad Said Pasha in 1919 .

On March 16, 1921 he became Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Egypt for the first time and held this office for almost a year until March 1, 1922.

As Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Egypt he then headed a government from June 7, 1926 to April 26, 1927, in which he also took over the office of Minister of the Interior. From October 4, 1929 to January 1, 1930 he was Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior for the third time.

He was then President of the Senate for some time .
