Adnan Polat

Adnan Polat (* 1953 in Aşkale , Erzurum ) is a Turkish businessman. From March 2008 to May 2011 he was President of the Istanbul Sports Club Galatasaray Istanbul and is First Chairman of the Turkish Ceramic Federation.

Live and act

After successfully completing high school in 1976, Adnan Polat studied business administration at Long Island University in the USA . After graduating, he returned to Turkey and started his career in the construction industry. From 1981 he was CEO of EGE Ceramics for ten years . He is also the owner of the Polat Renaissance Hotels .

In 1997 he was appointed Honorary Consul of Thailand. Two years later, he ran as a candidate for the Republican People's Party for the office of Lord Mayor of Istanbul, but was unsuccessful. In 2007 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .

Adnan Polat was the Vice President of Alp Yalman at Galatasaray between 1992 and 1996 . Between 2006 and his election as 33rd President of the Association in March 2008, he was also Vice President under Özhan Canaydin . From March 2008 to May 2011 he held the office of club president.

He has been married to his wife Ayşe Polat since 1980 and has two children.
