Adobe GoLive

Adobe GoLive is an HTML editor from Adobe Inc. It is a WYSIWYG editor for Mac OS and Microsoft Windows . The creation and editing of web pages is simplified by drag and drop , ready-made pages and syntax highlighting .

The program was developed by the Hamburg company GoNet communications in 1996 as GoLive CyberStudio and GoLive Systems . In 1999 the company was bought by Adobe. The first Adobe GoLive version appeared in 1999. Versions 2 and 2.3 of the Adobe Creative Suite contain both GoLive 8 and Dreamweaver. The last version, Adobe GoLive 9 , had the addition “CS2”, but was only offered separately and used the Opera engine for layout rendering (like Dreamweaver up to version CS3). With this version the development and in April 2008 also the distribution of GoLive was stopped in favor of Dreamweaver CS3.

The CS versions of GoLive must be activated after the installation by a product activation in order to remain operational (in the CS2 version now deactivated, see CS2 version ).
