Adolf Friedrich Cross
The Adolf Friedrich Cross was on June 17, 1917 by Adolf Friedrich VI. Grand Duke of Mecklenburg [-Strelitz] donated and awarded to men and women who were directly or indirectly employed by authorities, in agriculture and forestry, in war-economic organizations, in war-important professions and companies or in public services and who had earned merit in doing so .
Order decoration
Religious character is a blackened iron manufactured Tatzenkreuz on which a high oval medallion rests that of a dense Lorbeerkranz is enclosed. The five-line inscription FÜR WERKE DER KRIEGSHILFE 1917 can be read in it. On the reverse, the intertwined initials AF (Adolf Friedrich) surmounted by a crown .
Carrying method
Men wore the award on a yellow ribbon with four red stripes and a light blue border on the left side of the chest, women on a ladies' bow with the same ribbon on the left shoulder.
