Adolf Ahrens (politician)

Adolf Ahrens (born August 23, 1898 in Delmenhorst ; † May 18, 1974 there ) was a German entrepreneur and politician. He was a member of the FDP .

Ahrens was a master bricklayer, building contractor and owner of the company JH Ahrens in Delmenhorst. In 1946 he became a district master craftsman. From 1947 he was a councilor and from April 14, 1955 to November 22, 1956, he was second mayor of Delmenhorst for the FDP . On March 17, 1959, he was elected President of the Oldenburg Chamber of Crafts . Two years later he gave up the post of district master craftsman . On the occasion of his 65th birthday he was awarded the Federal Order of Merit. In October 1964 he moved from the FDP to the CDU parliamentary group in the city council. In 1969 he was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

He was also honorary president of the Oldenburg Chamber of Crafts.
