Adolf Ernst (politician)

Adolf Ernst (born September 14, 1940 in Althütte ) is a German politician ( FDP ). From 2002 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After attending secondary school (1955–1959) and graduating from high school, Adolf Ernst worked as a lathe operator in the Magdeburg measuring equipment and fittings factory.

In the 1960s he qualified as a qualified engineer for plant and apparatus construction. From 1967 to 1986 he worked as a welding engineer at VEB IMO Merseburg, 1987–1988 as production manager for sanitary technology in Laucha, 1988–1990 as production manager and as a welding engineer in steam boiler construction in Billroda.

Political party

Adolf Ernst joined the LDPD in 1966 and is now a member of the FDP. From 1993 to 1997 he was district chairman of the FDP in the Burgenland district.

Public offices

Adolf Ernst has been a member of the Burgenlandkreis district council since 1990 , and since 1994 he has been chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the Burgenlandkreis district council. From 1990 to 2001 he was mayor of Bad Bibra .

In the state elections in 2002 , Ernst was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. He was spokesman for urban development and housing for the FDP parliamentary group and, as a member of parliament, was responsible for the Burgenland district and Merseburg-Querfurt.

For reasons of age, Ernst decided not to run again and left the Landtag in 2006.
