Adolf Fluri

Josef Adolf Fluri (born February 15, 1865 in Tramelan ; † March 18, 1930 in Bern ), entitled to live in Herbetswil and Bern, was a Swiss educator and historian.

Adolf Fluri was born as the son of the shoemaker Joseph Fluri and Salome Ruch. In 1890 he married Magdalena Ermel, an Alsatian. The two had eight children together. He attended the schools in Tramelan, from 1880 to 1883 the teacher training college Muristalden Bern and in 1886 acquired the secondary teacher certificate at the University of Bern. From then until his death he worked as a French teacher at the Muristalden teacher training college. In addition to his job, Fluri has published books and countless articles on numismatics, school, church and cultural history. In 1910 he acquired the citizenship rights of the city of Bern.
