Adolf Hochgraefe

Adolf Hochgraefe (born July 30, 1896 in Hagenow , † September 22, 1963 in Uelzen ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Hochgraefe completed school and then vocational training before registering as a volunteer for the First World War in 1915. From 1923 to 1933 he was district chairman of the SPD and also a member of the district council. Until his reprimand in 1933, he worked as an employee of the employment office in Hagenow. He then moved to Hamburg, where he worked for Volksfürsorge. After it was bombed out in 1943, he moved to Uelzen, where he was involved in building the union in 1945. From 1948 he was the district secretary of the ÖTV trade union . In addition, he was a member of the appointed city council in Uelzen from 1945 and mayor of the city from 1946.

Hochgraefe was elected to the third legislative period of the Lower Saxony state parliament, to which he belonged from May 6, 1955 to May 5, 1959. He was not elected in the fourth legislative term, but replaced the late Hinrich Wilhelm Kopf on December 28, 1961 .
