Adolf Kräutl

Adolf Kräutl (born November 17, 1928 in Rottenmann ; † April 23, 1994 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and district secretary of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions . Kräutl was 1979-1981 member of the Bundesrat and 1981-1990 Member of the National Council .

Kräutl attended compulsory school and then completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter. He became an employee in 1952 and from 1956 worked as district secretary of the ÖGB. Kräutl joined the SPÖ in 1947 and was a member of the district committee of the SPÖ Liezen from 1956. From 1972 he also held the function of chairman of the SPÖ city organization Rottenmann and was a member of the municipal council and first deputy mayor. He was also active on the management board of the Ennstal settlement cooperative and a member of the supervisory board of Konsum Austria. He represented the SPÖ from May 15, 1979 to September 15, 1981 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the National Council from September 16, 1981 to November 4. In addition, from 1981, Kräutl acted as deputy district party chairman of the SPÖ Liezen.
