Adolf Winkelmann (stenographer)
Adolf W. Winkelmann (* 1833 ; † March 17, 1856 in Berlin ) was a German stenographer .
Career
Winkelmann worked as an official stenographer for the Prussian state parliament , where he first recorded for the Prussian House of Representatives and later for the Prussian mansion . The shorthand used and promoted by him was the system introduced by Wilhelm Stolze .
In addition, Winkelmann was a member and secretary of the “Stenographic Association of Berlin”, where in 1854 he founded the “Kränzchen for betting and bonus writing”, which promoted the training of stenographic practitioners in Berlin. The club named the "Winkelmann album" after him, in which the name of the winner was entered in the annual competition. He was allowed to keep the album for a year in order to pass it on to the new winner after the next competition.
