Adolfo Baci
Adolfo Baci (born November 23, 1834 in Florence , † April 21, 1918 in Tbilisi ) was an Italian composer .
Baci completed his musical training in Florence, where in 1884 his first opera Rosilda di Saluzzo was premiered at the Teatro della Pergola . In 1889 the opera Bianci di Nevers (based on a libretto by Enrico Golisciani ) was premiered at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo. It was applauded by both the audience and the music critics, who particularly praised the melody and accuracy of the instrumentation. His third opera, La Sirena , was performed in 1903 at the Teatro Rossini in Venice. Baci also composed church music ( Corali in stile osservato ; Dodici Cori per Pasqua ; Otto Cori per le premiazioni scolastiche ) and instrumental music (including a melody for cello and piano) and wrote music theory essays and writings, including the monograph La musica sacra nei culti evangelici (Rome, 1912).
