Adolfo Saldías (born December 6, 1849 in Buenos Aires , † October 17, 1914 in La Paz , Bolivia ) was an Argentine historian, lawyer, soldier, politician and diplomat.

biography

In 1875 Saldías began working as a lawyer. During this time he wrote his theses on civil marriage (original: Matrimonio civil ). He began his political career in the Partido Autonomista de Buenos Aires party , which was then led by Adolfo Alsina . This party was then significantly split by Bartolomé Miter, among others, so that the Unión Cívica Radical came into being.

Adolfo Saldías took an active part in the 1890 park revolution in Argentina; he and his friend Leandro Alem were one of the first to enter the battlefield. As a member of the Unión Cívica Radical , he also took part in the revolution of 1893.

In 1898 he was appointed Minister of Construction of the State of Argentina, four years later he was promoted to the post of Vice-Governor of Buenos Aires .
