Adolph Metzger

Adolph Metzger (* 1896 in Hannoversch-Münden ; † 1965 ) was a German geologist.

After the First World War, Metzger moved to Finland , where he worked as a geologist at AG Pargas Kalkberg for 30 years. He explored limestone deposits in Finland, which led to a monograph on limestone deposits in Pargas . He published on various topics in geology, cement mineralogy and paleontology and introduced geophysical methods to study geological problems in Finland. In 1952 he became professor of applied geology at the Åbo Akademi because of his scientific merits .
