Adolph Wilhelm von Gohren
Adolph Wilhelm von Gohren (also: Johann Adolf Wilhelm von Goehren ; * May 13, 1685 in Copenhagen ; † July 24, 1734 in Hamburg ) was a Danish Protestant theologian.
Life
Gohren grew up in Lübeck , studied from Easter 1702 at the University of Kiel , then at the University of Jena , where he also lectured as a private lecturer. This was followed by appointments as consistorial councilor at the court of the Duke of Saxony-Eisenach , as the first pastor in Glaucha , as superintendent and consistorial councilor to the imperial count of Schönburg. In 1731 he became the main pastor of the St. Michaeliskirche in Hamburg , but died after only two years because of the anger caused by a schoolmaster.
