The Adolphus Hotel (often abbreviated as The Adolphus ) is a high-end city hotel in the Texas city of Dallas . It opened on Main Street in downtown Dallas in 1912 and was the tallest building in the state of Texas for several years .
The building is on the National Register of Historic Places as well as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and a Dallas Landmark (since September 30, 1987).
