Aelius Rufus

Aelius Rufus (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd or 3rd century AD .

A dedicatory inscription that was found at Segedunum fort and that is dated 101/300 shows that Rufus was prefect of the Cohors IIII Lingonum , which was stationed in the province of Britannia .
