The Aepfeltonne was on Holstein limited volume measure for the mass of four Lübeck oats bushels . This was heaped up for trade in dry goods, except wheat and rye . The bushel for these two grains was smaller, being Paris cubic inches or 34.694 liters in 1749 .

  • 1 apple ton = 4 bushels (oats) = 158.056 liters
  • 1 bushel ( heaped oats ) = 1992 Paris cubic inches = 39.514 liters
