Aeródromo de Lillo is a Spanish sports airfield in the municipality of Lillo in the province of Toledo . It is also known as the Aeródromo de “Don Quixote”.
The airfield is around one kilometer from the center of Lillo and around 90 kilometers south of the Spanish capital, Madrid .
The Aeródromo is approved for civil aviation under VFR conditions. The airfield complex with tower, hangar, petrol station, offices, parachute shop, flight and parachute diving school, workshop and cafeteria also has modern toilet and shower facilities. The airfield was officially opened as part of the XXXII. Campeonato Nacional de Vuelo a Vela 2000 opened in June 2000. This competition was part of the gliding world championship.
The airfield is used by the Real Aeroclub de Toledo and the skydiving group Skydive Lillo . It is ideal for both gliding and skydiving because, despite its proximity to Madrid, it is outside the air traffic control zone of Madrid-Barajas airport , so there are no problems with flight and take-off heights of up to 4000 meters.
