Aerial rigging

Aerial rigging is the art of planning and operating rope systems that dramaturgically exaggerate (assert) a movement, and it combines show rigging and theater rigging .

Aerial riggers mainly look after aerial acrobats and actors for shows (show rigging) and theater performances (theater rigging) .

Aerial rigging enables the safe execution of static and dynamic movements, e.g. B. seem dangerous, impossible or even magical.

Aerial rigging is not regulated by specific standards, but rather includes the expertise and safe use of equipment, techniques and skills from all rope engineering industries, which are combined to achieve certain artistic or acrobatic effects.

Aerial Rigging originally uses rope techniques unterschiedlichster disciplines such event rigging , tree-climbing technology (IDT) , industrial climbing , sport climbing , circus , mountain climbing , caving and sailing .

Professional as well as amateur aerialists often become riggers out of necessity when they hang or assemble their props themselves.
