The Aero Boero AB-180 was a further development of the Aero Boero AB-95 and Aero Boero AB-115 types . The first flight took place in January 1968. Series production began in 1969. The aircraft could also be used for towing gliders, for agricultural and medical services, and for aerial surveying. The much more powerful Lycoming O-360 with 132 kW take-off power served as the drive .
