Aerograph

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aerograph is a graphene- based airgel and has been the solid with the lowest density since March 2013 . It was developed at China's Zhejiang University and consists of a mixture of carbon nanotubes and graphene. In contrast to other aerogels, it is not produced in the sol-gel process , but by freeze-drying, which allows greater freedom in the design of the fabric structure.

properties

Aerographs have an extremely low density of 0.16 mg / cm³ (excluding air). At the same time, it is extremely stable and can absorb 900 times its own weight in oil in its pores.
