Aert van den Bossche
Aert van den Bossche was a Flemish painter, active in Brussels and Bruges at the end of the 15th century.
Live and act
The only credible news is his receipt of payment from the Brussels shoemaker's guild for the triptych depicting the martyrdom of St. Crispinus and Crispinianus . The middle part of the triptych is in the collection of the Wilanów Museum in Warsaw, the outside of the right wing in the Moscow Pushkin Museum , the inside of the right wing in the City Museum in Brussels. It is also certain that his father, the painter Yanne van den Bossche, received some commissions from the Brussels blacksmiths' guild. Aert van der Bossche was also active in Bruges, where he was a member of the local Guild of St. Luke .
Possibly he is identical to the master of the Barbara legend .
