Aeterni regis

The papal bull Aeterni regis (German: Des Ewigen König , so the initial words that gave the bull its name), which was issued on June 21, 1481 by Pope Sixtus IV , confirmed the content of the Treaty of Alcaçovas and thus the Castilian possession of the Canary Islands . All other acquisitions in Africa and east of it should go to Portugal .
