African Central Bank
The African Central Bank ( English : African Central Bank , short ACB ) is one of three financial institutions of the African Union . She is intended to take over responsibility for the African Monetary Fund .
The creation of the African Central Bank, which will not be completed until 2028, was agreed in the 1991 Abuja Treaty . The Sirte Declaration of 1999 advocates an acceleration of this process with its creation by 2020.
As soon as it is fully regulated by the Pan-African Parliament , the Central Bank of Africa will be the sole issuer of the African common currency , will be the bank of African governments, will be the parent bank for the African private and public banks that regulate and oversee the African banking sector and administer the official interest and exchange rates in conjunction with the African governments.
