Agakauitai is a small island in the Gambier Islands in French Polynesia . At a distance of a good 300 meters, it is the southern neighboring island of Taravai . The uninhabited island is 0.7 km², its highest point is 139 m above sea level.

history

Traditionally, Agakauitai or Angakanitai belonged to the Kingdom of Taravai. The kings of Taravai as well as some kings of Mangareva are buried on the island. There was a marae on the island.
