Agariste (daughter of Hippocrates)
Agariste ( Greek Ἀγαρίστη [Agaríste]) was the daughter of the Athenian nobleman Hippocrates from the Alkmaioniden family . It was named after her grandmother Agariste , daughter of the tyrant Kleisthenes of Sicyon .
She is known for her dream that she would give birth to her husband Xanthippos a lion. A few days later she gave birth to Pericles , who, like Agaristes uncle Kleisthenes, reformed Attic politics.
