Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan ( Kazakh Қазақстан Республикасы Статистика агенттігі , Russian Агентство Республики Казахстан по статистике , English Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics ), the Kazakh Statistics Agency . It is an official government agency based in Nur-Sultan .
history
The history of the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan goes back to the year 1920, when the Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was formed , to which most of today's Kazakhstan area belonged. In 1948 a statistical department was installed at the SSR Council of Ministers. An independent statistical agency was set up in the Republic of Kazakhstan between 1992 and 1996. On May 7, 1996, a new state statistical law was passed. According to a regulation issued by President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 1999 , it was converted into its current form and is an independent authority.
In 2009 the authority carried out a census in Kazakhstan for the first time (a first census in the area was carried out in the Tsarist Empire in 1897).
