Agios Andronikos ( Greek Άγιος Ανδρόνικος , Turkish Yeşilköy ) is a small town in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus .

In 1831 the Ottoman authorities counted 62 Turkish and 55 Greek residents. In 1891 the place had a total of 557 inhabitants, of which 302 were Greeks and 255 Turks (= 46%). By 1960, the proportion of the latter increased by about 200 inhabitants (this corresponded to 36% of the total population), while the number of Greeks rose to 771, so that the place had 1205 inhabitants at that time. In 1958 the proportion of Turks due to refugees from Melanarga / Adaçay had risen, while many of the Greek population went to Great Britain, whose colonial rule was coming to an end. This was the climax, because in 1946 there were 420 Turks and 960 Greeks, so that the population was 1380.

In 1964 the Turkish part of the town was destroyed, but the strong minority remained. The Greek Cypriots had to flee between 1974 and 1977. This happened in stages that began in August 1974. Thereafter, 560 Greeks remained in the village until October 1975. By July 1976 only 28 Greeks remained, by December 1980 there were only 10.

Many displaced Cypriot Turks fled to the village from Balalan / Platanissos , Kaleburnu / Galinoporni , Kuruova / Koroveia , Melanarga / Adaçay and Mehmetçik / Galatia ; The Turkish government also settled families from Anatolia , especially from the provinces of Muş, Kars, Osmaniye, Ordu and Adana. In 2006 there were again 777 inhabitants.
