agnès b. (Born November 26, 1941 in Versailles as Agnès Andrée Marguerite Troublé ) is a French fashion designer .

Life

Agnès Troublé had twins at 19 and divorced at 20. After graduating from the École des Beaux-Arts in Versailles, she started working as an editor at ELLE , but stayed there for less than two years. She worked for Dorothée Bis in Paris and from 1965 designed freelance for Limitex, Pierre d'Alby, V de V and Eversbin. In 1966 she founded CMC (Comptoir Mondial de Creation), from which the agnès b. he grew. In 1975 she opened her first boutique in Les Halles .

agnès b. started designing clothing for men in 1981. Her first international store opened in 1983 on Prince Street in New York's SoHo neighborhood.

In 1987 agnès b. the skin care and cosmetics series "Le B Perfume". Over time, she also designed maternity clothes, shoes, and bags. In addition, agnès b. also designed wristwatches and glasses for Seiko and a beauty series for L'Oréal .

It promotes the arts and has financed Gaspar Noé's film Irréversible (2002) , among others .

Prizes and awards

On May 21, 1985 she was made Knight of the Ordre national du Mérite and in 1997 promoted to officer.

In 2000 she was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
