Agnes Tieze

Agnes Tieze (born 1970 in Augsburg ) is a German art historian . Since 2012 she has been the director of the Ostdeutsche Galerie art forum in Regensburg .

Life

Agnes Tieze studied art history , classical archeology and art education at the University of Augsburg and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . She completed her master's thesis on rhetorical gestures in Dutch painting of the 17th century at the University of Augsburg in 1996. In 2002 she did her dissertation on the Flemish painter Anton Goubau at the University of Bonn. From 2002 to 2004 she worked as an academic trainee at the Staatliche Museen Kassel . She then worked as a research assistant at the Städelsche Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt am Main until 2007 . She then headed the Museum of Art and Cultural History at the Philipps University of Marburg as director until 2012 . Agnes Tieze has been the director and deputy chairwoman of the Art Forum Ostdeutsche Galerie Regensburg since 2012.
