Agrobile
Agrobil is the name of various agricultural transporters built in Germany . They are mainly used to pick up and transport grass , silage , hay or straw (feed) and are mostly used in green forage drying systems or by contractors . The profitability of such station wagons is narrow, the expected number of units of the producers was not achieved due to the demand from specialized service companies.
history
In the early 1970s, the German tractor manufacturer Fendt developed the Agrobil S as a self-propelled loader wagon and universal transporter. The Fendt Agrobils, which are produced in-house and painted in municipal orange, are equipped with a 59 kW underfloor motor (80 PS) and a fully synchronous gearbox. They have a top speed of 60 km / h and a loading capacity of around eight tons. The loading unit ( pickup ) is used in the front of the vehicle. Also Miststreuer units and mowers (mower) can be grown.
After Fendt was only able to sell a little more than 100 Agrobils, the Allgäu-based company Rhein-Bayern acquired the trademark rights to the name Agrobil in 1985 and from then on built similar Agrobils until they went bankrupt in the mid-1990s. In these, however, the charging unit is located in the rear, and they were mounted on truck chassis using a four- person club cab from Magirus-Deutz / Iveco or MAN .
