Agustín Zaragoza

Agustín Zaragoza (born August 18, 1941 in San Luis Potosí ) is a retired Mexican boxer . Zaragoza was a bronze medalist at the 1967 and 1971 Pan American Games and the 1968 Olympic Games .

Career

In 1967 Zaragoza took part in an international championship, the Pan American Games , for the first time. In these he won after a semi-final defeat against Rolando Garbey , Cuba , the bronze medal in the light middleweight (-71 kg). He fought for the same placement at the 1968 Olympic Games in the middleweight division (75 kg). After victories over Oliver Wright, Jamaica (5: 0), and Jan Hejduk, Czechoslovakia (4: 1), he lost in the semi-finals to Alexei Kisseljow , Soviet Union (TKO 1st).

At the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1970 Zaragoza won the gold medal and in 1971 at the Pan American Games again the bronze medal.
