Ahmad Gianpiero Vincenzo

Ahmad Gianpiero Vincenzo (* 1961 in Naples ) is an Italian scholar of Islam and a figure in the Muslim-Christian dialogue. In 1990 he converted to Islam. He lives in Rome , where he is one of the members of the parish of the Great Mosque .

He studied at the Johns Hopkins University in Bologna , teaches Islamic Law and Society at the University of Naples Federico II ( Naples ) and is Professor of Sociological Disciplines at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania ( Catania ) in Sicily. He is President of the Associazione Intellettuali Musulmani Italiani (Society of Intellectual Italian Muslims).

At the 1st Catholic-Muslim Forum he was one of the delegation members.

He is one of the signatory of the originally signed by 138 Muslim scholars open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam engl "leaders of Christian churches everywhere." ( "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ") (October 13, 2007).
