Ahmed El-Leithy

Ahmed El-Leithy (* 1945 ) is an Egyptian politician .

Life

Ahmed El-Leithy holds a PhD in agricultural production, was on the board of a holding company that invested in agricultural producers, and advised his predecessor as Minister of Agriculture, Yousef Wali , during whose tenure a number of cases of bribery were publicized. Ahmed El-Leithy announced that he wanted to cut red tape and that investors expected him to improve the political conditions for cash crops . His successor, Amin Ahmed Mohamed Othman Abaza , showed a profitable performance as a cotton producer . Whereupon Ahmed El-Leithy was elected to represent the International Fund for Agricultural Development in 2005 .

Ahmed El-Maghrabi was Minister for Agriculture and Land Claims in the first Nazif cabinet .
