Willibald Folz

Willibald Johannes "Willi" Folz (born May 3, 1936 in Schweinfurt ; † April 21, 2017 in Samedan ) was a German economist and tax official.

Life

Folz studied law and economics and in 1970 in the Department of Business Administration of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with the dissertation The monetary theory and monetary policy work Walter Eucken doctorate . Folz was a consultant at the Bavarian Ministry of Finance and at the Bavarian State Chancellery .

He held managerial positions in various banks, including BayernLB . He was a member of the board of the Deutsch-Skandinavische Bank AG and from 1985 spokesman for the board of the Münchener Hypothekenbank eG . From 1990 to 1999 Folz was President and Chairman of the Board of the Bavarian Cooperative Association. He was chairman of the supervisory board of BayWa AG from 1993 to 2000 and chairman of the supervisory board of Münchener Hypothekenbank eG from 1998 to 2010 . He was also a member of the supervisory board of adesso SE and a member of the European Academy of Bavaria, founded in 1976.

On July 30, 1997, he was appointed honorary professor for banking law and cooperative banks at the Faculty of Economics at the chair of Prof. Mählmann at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . He was also chairman of the University Council of Bamberg University and the Board of Trustees of the Munich University of Philosophy.

Folz lived in Munich and was married.
