Ahmet Çakır (politician)
Ahmet Çakır (* 1964 in Darende ) has been the Lord Mayor of Malatya since March 24, 2009 . He is a member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AKP).
Çakır attended elementary, middle and high school in Darende. He studied economics at Anadolu Üniversitesi . He worked in business. In 2001 he was one of the founding members of the AKP. He was a member of the MÜSİAD Business Association and President of the Malatya Association.
Çakır is married and has two children. He speaks English and Arabic.
