We love our China
We love our China ( Chinese 愛我中華 / 爱我中华 , Pinyin ài wǒ Zhōnghuá ) is a Chinese choral song to the Xu Peidong wrote the music and Qiao Yu wrote the text. After it was sung by Song Zuying , it became a huge hit. It is usually performed with soprano, choir and large orchestra. It is in 4/4 time and has many chorus-like recurring melody and text passages, mostly sung alternately by soloist and choir, including the most frequently recurring title verse Ài wǒ Zhōnghuá (“We love our China”) and the one with allusions to the Fifty-six nationalities beginning passages, which sing about the unity of the peoples of the country and its glory in short concise metaphors.
The song was first sung in 1991 in Nanning , Guangxi , at the 4th Games of the Nationalities of China , and because of its popularity it was later declared the official anthem of these games.
In 2007, it was selected as one of 31 plants for China's first Chang'e-1 lunar satellite .
