Aigos Potamoi

Aigos Potamoi , also Aigos Potamos ( Greek for "goat river") was a river and a city in ancient times on the Thracian Chersonesos , the Gelibolu peninsula , on the Hellespont ( Dardanelles ).

The place is known for the sea ​​victory of the Spartans under Lysandros over the Athenians ( 405 BC ), which ended the Peloponnesian War .
