The Aiköl ( Kyrgyz Ай-Көл ; Russian Ай-Куль Aj-Kul ) is a small mountain lake in the Batken area in Kyrgyzstan ( Central Asia ).
The lake is located on the northern slope of the Turkestan chain at an altitude of 2937 m . It has a longitudinal extent in south-north direction of 3.5 km and a maximum width of 500 m. The water surface is 82 ha. The lake is fed by the surrounding glaciers . In the north, the lake is dammed up by a natural barrier. The lake is drained via the Aksuu to the Syrdarja . The lake's water level rises in summer, while it falls again in autumn and winter. The lake freezes between October and March.
