Aimpoint AB is a Swedish optics company that manufactures reflex sights or red dot sights. The Malmö- based company is the world market leader in this area . They are used by the police , the military and also in the hunting environment.
history
The company was founded in 1974. In 1975 the first commercial product was launched: the "Aimpoint Electronic". It was the first reflex sight ever and was based on a design by John Arne Ingemund Ekstrand. The product range has been continuously expanded and renewed, so that today the right red dot sight is available for every application.
1997 was a milestone for Aimpoint when the first multi-year supply contract was signed with the US Army. The Aimpoint CompM2 thus became the standard red dot sight of the US Army, which it called "M68 Close Combat Optic" or "M68 Aimpoint".
