Aipytiden
The Aipytiden ( ancient Greek Αἰπυτίδαι ) were the family of the Messenian kings, who derived their descent from Heracles . The family tree of the Aipytiden was handed down by Pausanias in his description of Messenia, whereby the first representatives were legendary and unhistorical. Phintas is considered to be the first historical king.
