Glaucus (son of Aipytos)

Glaukos ( Greek Γλαῦκος ), the son of Aipytos , was a king of Messenia and the father of Isthmius in Greek mythology .

He was a just ruler and the first Dorian to worship the god Zeus . He founded a sanctuary for Zeus on the Ithome and one for Machaon , the son of Asclepius , in Gerenia . For Messene , the daughter of Triopas , he founded the hero cult .
