VMware AirWatch is an Atlanta-based provider of enterprise mobility management software and standalone management systems for content, applications, and email.

history

AirWatch was founded as Wandering WiFi in 2003 by John Marshall, who served as President and CEO. Alan Dabbiere has been chairman since 2006. In February 2013, AirWatch received its first round of funding from Insight Venture Partners and Accel Partners . In July 2013, the company acquired the MSP (Mobility Services Platform) from Motorola Solutions to add rugged devices to its portfolio. On February 24, 2014, the company was acquired by VMware , Inc. and renamed VMware AirWatch. In May 2018, the company product was renamed Workspace ONE UEM with the release of version 9.4. The AirWatch name now only remains as part of AirWatch Express for Small and Medium Business .
