Boston Properties , Inc., is a self-managed American real estate investment trust ( REIT ) with 760 employees that is listed as a public company on the NYSE .

It has a presence in the United States as an owner, manager and developer of office properties . His properties are in the cities of Boston , Los Angeles , New York , San Francisco, and Washington, DC . The company was founded in 1970 by Mortimer B. Zuckerman and Edward H. Linde in Boston, Massachusetts and is headquartered there. Boston Properties was converted into a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in June 1997 and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "BXP".

Portfolio

Boston Properties is a fully integrated real estate mutual fund developing, redeveloping, acquiring, managing, operating and owning a diverse portfolio of primarily Class A office space totaling 4.5 million square feet. The portfolio consists of 164 office properties (including six properties under construction). There are also five retail properties, four residential properties (two of which are under construction) and a hotel in the company's portfolio.

In 1985 Boston Properties won a tender against Donald Trump to redevelop the Colosseum on Columbus Circle .

In 2008, Boston Properties acquired the General Motors Building in New York City for $ 2.9 billion.

In 2005, the Trust constructed the building at 901 New York Avenue NW in Washington, DC in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood . It's seven blocks northeast of the White House .

In October 2010, Boston Properties bought the former John Hancock Tower (now known as the " 200 Clarendon ") for $ 930 million.

In 2012 Boston Properties acquired a 50% stake in the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco , which increased it to 95% in 2013.
