The Salesforce Tower (formerly Transbay Terminal Tower ) is a skyscraper in San Francisco , the US state of California .

Emergence

Construction of the high-rise began at the end of 2013 and was completed in 2018. The first plans for a project called Transbay Terminal Tower were published as early as 2006 , although the project name was later changed to Salesforce Tower in relation to the future main tenant Salesforce.com . The well-known Argentine architect César Pelli is responsible for the design of the tower . The skyscraper reaches a height of 326 meters, which is higher than the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles (310 meters). However, the 335 meter high Wilshire Grand Tower was opened in Los Angeles in 2017 , which exceeds the Salesforce Tower by nine meters and is therefore the tallest building on the American west coast. Nevertheless, the Salesforce Tower is significantly higher than the 260-meter-high Transamerica Pyramid , which was once the tallest building in San Francisco.

Apart from the technical facilities for operating the building, only modern office space is to be built on the 61 floors of the high-rise. The Salesforce Tower has a square floor plan, in the top quarter up to the flat roof the area is reduced in a slightly rounded shape. The facade of the skyscraper will only be clad with glass.

In 2012 the real estate investment trust Boston Properties bought 50% of the property and in 2013 an additional 45%.
