Airbag is a Norwegian progressive rock band that was formed in Oslo in 1994 .

history

The band was founded in Oslo in 1994 and has been playing in the current line-up since 1999/2000 . In addition to Airbag , the musicians played in a Pink Floyd association. The first demo was released in 2000, the EP Come On In was released in 2004 . The second EP Sounds That I Hear followed in 2006, the third EP Safetree was released in November . All publications were on the website available to the band, previously the site recorded 200,000 downloads . In 2008 Airbag was signed by the Norwegian independent label Karisma Records , in April 2009 the first album Identity was released, initially in Norway and in summer 2009 outside of Norway. The album essentially consists of newly recorded songs from the three EPs. In November 2010 Henrik Fossum became the band's new drummer. In October 2011 the second album All Rights Removed was released.

style

Airbag's musical influences include progressive rock bands like Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree , but also pop bands like Talk Talk or a-ha . The online magazine Babyblaue Seiten called the band a “download miracle” in a review of Identity and assigned them stylistically to art rock . The Rock Hard classifies the music as "elegiac ambient prog" and compares the band with Steven Wilson's project Blackfield .
