Airbus Canada Limited Partnership (until June 2019 C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership , CSALP for short ) is a Canadian aircraft manufacturer based in Mirabel , Québec .

history

The aircraft manufacturer was founded on June 23, 2016 by Bombardier Aerospace with a stake of over 50.5% and by the Province of Québec with a stake of over 49.5%. The assets , liabilities and obligations of the then Bombardier CSeries , since July 2018 Airbus A220 , were transferred to it.

Airbus and CSALP published their plans in October 2017 that Airbus would take over the majority of CSALP with 50.01% of the shares . At this point in time, Bombardier held approx. 62% and Investissement Québec approx. 38% of the shares, which would then be reduced to 31% (Bombardier) and 19% (Investissement Québec). The CSALP Board of Directors would initially consist of seven members, four of which, including the Chairman, could be proposed by Airbus, two by Bombardier and one by Investissement Québec. This acquisition took effect on July 1, 2018. On July 10, 2018, Airbus announced that it would be renaming the CSeries to Airbus A220 . The aircraft manufacturer has been operating as Airbus Canada Limited Partnership since July 1, 2019.

In early 2020, Bombardier finally sold its remaining shares to Airbus Canada. Airbus now holds 75% and Québec 25% of the shares.
