Aissatou Barry (swimmer)

Aissatou Barry (born May 2, 1979 in Guinea ) is a former Guinean swimmer . She was a participant in the 2000 Olympic Games.

Life

Aissatou Barry specialized in sprint freestyle competitions. Barry started for Guinea at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney in the women's 50m freestyle . She received a ticket from the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) as part of a Universality program with a starting time of 10 p.m. She challenged seven other swimmers in four runs, including Russian import Jekaterina Tochenaya from Kyrgyzstan and two-time Yugoslav Olympic athlete Duška Radan . Barry tried to keep up with the competition in the pool and was last with 35.79 s, almost eight seconds behind Talía Barrios from Peru. Barry did not make the jump to the semifinals, as she reached 72nd place in the heats of 74 swimmers.
